The Misto is the "Maestro"

Everyone who has known me for any length of time, knows that I have a bit of a fascination with Kitchen Gadgets, I don't believe I have ever met an infomercial I didn't like, and if I could get back all the money I have spent over the years on Ronco products, cutters, slicers, juicers, dehydrators, etc. I could probably buy my own island in the Carribean. Some might call it a sickness, I prefer to call it a "Sense of Adventure.

My new gadget is called the Misto, it sprays a perfect olive oil as a mist onto food or your tongue. Whether you are a saute' freak, grill master, bread eater it doesn't matter, this little gadget is my new fave and staying that way for awhile. I love to wake up in the morning and take a big'ol spray hits to the tonsils, LOL. Yes, it's true. I load it up with my favorite Blood Orange Olive Oil I buy at the Queen Creek Olive Mill and it's a great way to start the day, not to mention a "party in your mouth".

Take a look.

Remember, Call Me Dan

Quote of the Day

"Friendship is like peeing your pants, everyone can see it, but only you can feel the true warmth."

Republicans decry use of 'Hussein' in Obama's name

Come'on folks, this is simply pathetic. As if "Redneck America" doesn't have enough things to think about in their very small minds, let's not add another log to the "hillbilly fire".

I am not endorsing Mr. Obama by any stretch at this point, but really, let's stop the muslim crapola. Obama is not a damn terrorist, doesn't appear to be an Anti-Semite.

What is he? He is just another guy running for president and believes he can make a difference. Maybe he can. Maybe he will get the opportunity. Maybe John McCain will cream him at the polls. Nobody knows yet, it is Feb. Cast your votes in November.

Whatever happens is yet to be seen. But I gotta say, when I hear an idiotic remark about his "being a muslim" I wanna just toss my fishstick sandwiches, cheese and all.

I will say this about Mr. Obama, at least he had the courage and integrity to admit that "He did inhale"

Let's show some class people, if you don't, you will forfeit the right to Call Me Dan. I mean it.

Read pathetic and ignorance at it's finest.

Eric "Otter" Stratton or Van Wilder?

Recieved some interesting feedback about my Van Wilder post and my comment about Animal House. Now don't get me wrong, Animal House is in the Hall of Fame for "No Brainer Humor", it's a time tested classic and holds up against any of the crapola hitting the theatres these days. My only point is Van Wilder is definitely in the same league as Eric "Otter" Stratton. (If you recall, it was Tim Matheson who played Van's father) The folks at National Lampoon had a reason.

So anyway, I am not gonna apologize for the comparison as it holds water.

Keep your opinions coming to askme@myviewis.com and tell me why you disagree, I love it.

Remember, even if we disagree, you can still Call Me Dan.

The ultimate tool for all your "Manscaping" needs

Let's face it, whether it's Mother Nature,Father Time, God, the Devil, whomever is responsible for all the changes our bodies take on. The bottom line is, as we begin to "season", HAIR begins to grow in the oddest new places. I was recently having a conversation with a fellow semi-simian when he introduced me to the Norelco Bodygroom. Well, game over hair, I have taken control back!!

Great quotes

I just love this little blog my friend Paul has put together. It is very much a "feel good" site to visit and that is a very good thing.

http://www.positive-motivational-quotes.com/

“You are the only problem you will ever have and you are the only solution. Change is inevitable, personal growth is always a personal decision.”

Van Wilder has become a true 'No Brainer Classic"

Van Wilder is very close to the level of Animal House and is definitely a must have for any private DVD library. To be clear, GET THE MOVIE, it will make you laugh.

Blu-ray version

Building a bridge of software.

I was recently visiting the COLD COLD state Minnesota for a get together of Software Publishers and the Retail buyers from all the Big Box stores from around the globe. It was a great experience getting to listen and interact with these two groups. Publishers trying to convince the buyers to put their products on shelf.

The best part is when the retailers basically hold the publishers hostage to provide MDF funds and "suggest" they could triple their volume by buying a monthly ad in one of their circulars. When they call, know that they are not coming away empty handed, you want shelf space, you will buy some type of ad or end cap deal. And it's never a "deal". LOL.

The highlight was a lunch conversation I had with the publishers of the 123 Copy DVD suite of products from Bling Software Ltd and the gents from Defender Pro, who have one of the top Anti-Virus / Firewall products in retail. Two very different categories of software, but it proved to be a fascinating experience listening to their approach to maintaining the quality and evolution of their respective products.

I am going to put together some type of contest to bring their two customer bases together, I feel the need to give something fantastic away. Just give me a few days to work something up and I will get er posted. Okay with you?

Fish Sticks

I made a fishstick sandwich for lunch today with a slice of cheese food, tarter sauce on Wonder bread. Mighty Larrapin!!!

You can call me Dan and that will be fine.

Timberlake to Induct Madonna Into Hall of Fame

Madonna in the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame? No question that she was, is and probably continue to be one of the greatest entertainers to walk across a stage. But, I cringe a bit when you say Madonna and Rock n Roll in the same sentence.

How come Rush has never been inducted? Jan and Dean?

The Associated Press

NEW YORK -- Justin Timberlake will induct Madonna into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
The "Sexyback" singer has been working with the Material Mom on her upcoming album, expected to be released this year.
Madonna will be among those honored March 10 at the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel in Manhattan. Other inductees include Leonard Cohen, John Mellencamp, The Dave Clark Five, The Ventures and Little Walter.
Tom Hanks will induct The Dave Clark Five, the '60s British pop band behind the hit "Glad All Over." Billy Joel will pay tribute to Mellencamp, and Lou Reed will honor Cohen.
Ben Harper will induct Little Walter, who produced 14 Top 10 hits on the R&B charts before his death in 1968 at 37. John Fogerty will induct The Ventures, whose hits include "Walk Don't Run" and "Hawaii Five-O."
Singer-songwriter Jerry Butler will induct Kenny Gamble and Leon Huff, founders of the Philadelphia International record label that collaborated with R&B artists such as Butler, The O'Jays, Patti LaBelle and Lou Rawls.

First post-war Blu-ray player from Panasonic

Panasonic has announced its first Blu-ray player since Toshiba threw in the towel. The DMP-BD30 will show how the consumers think of an HD DVD-free product... Panasonic's newest Blu-ray player will output in 1080p/24p and adds Dolby TrueHD, DTS-HD and Final Standard Profile for the first time.

The DMP-BD30's Final Standard Profile makes it possible to use Blu-ray 1.1 features like audio mixing and other types of bonus content. A new image processing technology that's added to the product, upsamples colour information to help reproduce colours closer to the original movie.
A new HDMI 1.3 port makes it possible to output Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Audio in bitstream form. Panasonic states that if used in combination with a compatible AV-receiver, the resulting audio will be of 'studio-master-quality'. Of course the player comes with an integrated SD Memory Card slot and VIERA Link.

So, the DMP-BD30 is available from mid March... What do you think? A waste of money, or is this the player to spend your hard-earned cash on?

Clinton hits Obama over Farrakhan

Did you watch tonights debate? Well, I kind of think Obama is the guy, at least for the Dems. Can he beat McCain? Will redneck America vote for him? Here is another question, Is John McCain, a 30 year vet of the D.C, going to bring anything new to the table?

I am not endorsing anyone at this point, but I have been looking at alot of different angles and it keeps coming back to B.O. Hmmm. That's interesting, Barack Obamas' initials are B.O.

I swear on all that is holy to YOU, I just noticed that as I typed. LOL. I had better get my submittal into Saturday Night Live, there has to be a script for that.

No matter what your views are, please, get your toosh outta the chair or get up a little early for work and get to the polls this November. You can make a difference.

Everybody should eat tacos.

If you get right down to it, everybody should enjoy eating a taco. I can't think of a single negative thing about a "taco".

Paul Mahos and New Life Crisis

Great tunes. My friend Dave Fletcher of theMechanism is what I consider a "Rock star trapped in a web design geeks body", he has turned me onto some pretty great sounds in the past, but I gotta say, his friends from NewLifeCrisis are Top Shelf, tune in, you won't be disappointed.

Whether you like them or not, the good news is, "you can still call me Dan"

No Denying it, Tanya is HOT!!!!

Tanya is HOT!! No if's, ands or buts about it. She sings and this cowboy melts. I would also like to answer a question, in regards to Ms. Tuckers song, "Would you lay with me, in a field of stone? The answer: Damn Right I will!!!!

The Day the music died? Not really, but it was a great loss.

Have you ever wondered what Buddy Holly may have accomplished musically had he lived? You may think I am crazy but I think he may have crossed alot of the same lines between different genres that Kid Rock has done with Rap, Hip hop, Country, and Rock.

Crazy? You have to remember, Buddy Holly was bit of a rebel. Even though Elvis brought the world to it's knees with his "black sound" (LOL, that one still kills me whenever I hear or read it, not exactly a statement about the open minded mentality of the time.) Buddy Holly was not only a singer, but this guy was a composer and producer. I truly think the ultimate studio session would have been Buddy Holly and Brian Wilson bumping into each other and laying down some tracks that would have made history. There is some real food for thought.

I think Mr. Holly would have really pushed the envelope.

But, the music didn't die with Buddy Holly and I just don't agree with those lyrics. The music suffered a huge loss when he died, but the music did play on through the inspiration his legacy provided to so many great artists.

If you knew.......................

Word of the Day is...

Did you happen to notice there is not "I" or "Me" associated with that word?

New Math in honor of my friend Michelle

For those of us with children still at home and dreading everytime they bring their homework to us to "help", here are a few measurements I came up with to help understand that "new math" we are always hearing about.

1.5 oz. = The perfect sedative if delivered orally 6 times with Patron Silver.

8 Olives = 4 Gray Goose Martinis.

12 ounces = The ideal weight for increasing bicep strength. (Heineken curls are my favorite)

Mr Prediction: The worlds next "Albert Einstein" will be a master of measurements and mixology.

Sony announces the Profile 2.0 Blu-ray Player

Sony has announced that its first Profile 2.0 Blu-ray players will be debuting this summer. The BDP-S350 will be Sony's first new player since the demise of HD DVD last week and will feature an Ethernet port allowing it to connect to a home network. Curiously, the player will not be able to access online Blu-ray content until Sony releases a BD-Live upgrade for the player. The company says the player will retail for about $400 USD. The new BDP-S550 will cost about $100 more but will be BD-Live capable from the get go. Both players will be the first of Sony's line to have picture-in-picture (PIP) content although some Panasonic players already have the feature meaning the new players are not the first of their kind. More interestingly, HD DVD players have had PIP and Internet capabilities since 2006 meaning Blu-ray is still catching up.

Jackass Award

I just have to award another Jackass to a true Jackass in every sense of the word. Ladies and Gentlemen, the award goes to none other than Major League Baseball Commissioner Bud Selig.

This guy took the "see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil" route on this whole mess that is the steroid scandal. Did he create it? No! Did he know about it? In my opinion, YES!

Roger Clemens? Doesn't look good for him right now.

Barry Bonds? Enough already, what's the point of even discussing him anymore?

Let's jump back in time to the early 80's and the Pittsburgh drug trials. That would almost be a welcome return vs what is happening now.

Am I still a baseball fan? Damn right, and I will continue to be so.

What about those mammoths we call the NFL? No steroids there, it's obvious. LOL. Ok, that was a stretch.

Podmaxx 08 Frees 80 million iTunes Hostages

Take the handcuffs off your iPod and enjoy your music YOUR WAY.

When was the last time you tried to sync the contents of your iPod and your PC and run into trouble? Maybe you've tried to transfer movies or music and iTunes shut it down? Well, if you're having a hard time you may want to check out Bling Software Ltd's Podmaxx '08. Podmaxx cuts through all the red tape that Apple included with its programming, allowing you to download music from any iPod, copy any DVD movies to your iPod, and create free ring tones. Sounds good right, well you should check out the customer testimonials at Podmaxx to see what others are saying about it.

As a side note, I really don't like it when a company, like Apple, sets up programming within their products which requires a user to only use their services. I know there are other players in the market, but this type of practice really ties the hands of the consumer, and thus creates resentment from their consumer base towards the manufacturer. But, smaller companies, like Bling Software, are giving end users the control back, to use their property as they choose.

CinemaNow.Com covers all your movie download wants, needs and desires.

DVD saves firefighters life, now that is lucky.

You have got to read this story about the fireman whose life was saved from a bullet because it deflected off a DVD in his pocket. Hope he made a copy of the DVD, LOL.

He was walking out of the Waffle House when a bullet from a fight hit him.

WALTERBORO, S.C. - A South Carolina man is thankful for a DVD that ended up taking a bullet for him.
Colleton County Fire and Rescue Director Barry McRoy said he was leaving a Waffle House restaurant in Walterboro on Saturday morning when two men ran in fighting over a gun.
Police say a bullet hit one of the struggling men, shattered a window and then hit McRoy.

The bullet hit a DVD McRoy was carrying in his pocket. He suffered a bruise but didn't realize he had been shot. As he told a police officer what happened he noticed a bullet hole in his jacket, the shattered DVD case and a piece of the bullet.
"I was saved by a DVD," McRoy said. "How lucky can you get?"
One man was arrested on assault and battery and gun charges.
The DVD was nicked. The DVD — a gift from an employee who had recorded a TV show about fire extinguishers.

Hardest working team I have ever met.

Hat's off to the hardest working team of testers I ever met at XS Games. We have all heard the age old adage, "Jack of all Trades", well I am here to state for the record that the men and women who make up XS Games are the "Quality Testers of all Trades".. From XBox, PS2 and Wii testing, these folks handle some of the top selling software products in retail. Kudos all around as they are the epitome of Teamwork!!!!

Now this is a church I might join.

While I consider myself a somewhat spiritual type of person, not neccessarily the old school fire and brimstone type. I still have what you might call "philosophical differences" with the whole immaculate conception thing, and I do admit it's hard for me to ignore what science has told us. I do believe there is something more, after we leave our bodies, just not sure what that may be.

Well enough of my ramblings, this preacher in Florida is talking my kind of language, 30 days straight to be precise. Hal A Lou Yu.

It's official, we have a new winner in the DVD race

With todays announcement by Toshiba that it was no longer manufacturing HD DVD Movies, that will be the final nail in the coffin for HD DVD. Long live the King, Blu Ray!! Not since the VHS and Beta wars of the 70's have we seen such a fun race as well as a quick finish. Blu Ray knocked the snot out of HD fairly quick. My next prediction, 123 Copy DVD will be the first to bring a true Blu Ray DVD copy tool that actually works to the market. Watch for it.

See the article from CNN http://www.cnn.com/2008/BUSINESS/02/19/toshiba.hdd/index.html

Hmmm. Here's some food for thought.

Now make sure you write this down so you don't forget. They are some of my favorites.

If you look to far into the future and ignore the present, you are going to miss alot of fun.

If you take life too serious, you will never get out alive.

Smack the clam.

Take it through the car wash, get it waxed and buffed.

Cuba, the next Time Share Resort?

Fidel is really stepping down? Is he really still alive? Could we be on the brink of a whole new round of telemarketing for Time Shares? Guantanamo going Condo? Any true gangsters left to get the casinos going? Hmmm. Lot's to think about here.

YouTube Robot let's you record it all.

Wow, I just took the new YouTube Robot for a test drive and long story short, I bought it.

YouTube is very popular video sharing website which has attracted millions of people and will continue to attract millions more. People want to download and save the innovative and interesting videos clips and watch them on their iPod, Zune, iPhone, etc. However, many people just do not know how to do this. YouTueRobot products can provide ideal solution for this. For example, you can plug in iPod, select multiple videos, go to bed, and by the time you wake up next morning, your iPod will be ready to play new YouTube videos! Download the trial.

Reality TV and Reality Blogs / Websites

Reality TV= Survivor, Flavor of Love, My Fair Brady, Hogan Knows Best,Celebrity Rehab, etc. It's all just kind of dumb and pathetic in my own humble opinion, it's genius from the networks point of view, they are making a ton of money so it's good business for them. How real can it really be when they are getting paid basically to perform? Or is that the reality of todays society? Let's call it what it really is for the most part, BAD ACTING.

Now I have seen the Nik Richie Blog site appear on the scene with a big bang. But I have to say, after contacting the organization with the attempt to do some real business, my opinion is that Nik Richie is a phantom, second cousin to Harvey the rabbit.

Now don't get me wrong, I am not faulting them and to be quite honest, the DUI postings they put up is something that I definitely approve of and say, "keep it coming". Check out the http://www.thedirty.com/

My point is, I personally get enough reality in my day to day doings an such, when I turn on a TV or watch a movie, 9.9 times out of 10 I want some FANTASY.

FANTASY IS GOOD!!!! Just remember to seperate fantasy and reality once in awhile, lol.

Blue Thong Society

It's long overdue that I say something about this fantastic group of ladies and all the great work they are doing with their respective charities. The Blue Thong Society is an organization of women that refuse to be lumped into a category of behavior or conformity because of age or whatever silly things exist in society. The Blue Thong Society are a shining example of women who are "eating their snowcones before they melt in their hands". Bravo Ladies!!!

Catalog your Assets

Hey everyone we had a big of a wake up call in our neighborhood the other day, one of our neighbors had an unfortunate accidental fire in their home the other day. I went down to see if I coud help with any cleanup store anything for them, etc. What I learned was very sad, this little fire that started in their kitchen managed to spread and destroy some valuable antiques and as well as the documentation on their value. Now the fight with the insurance company begins.

As I was walking back home, my little light bulb went off and remembered an aquaintance of mine who had developed a very cool and simple application to document your assets and cover yourself in case of some type of accident. Anybody can use this, it really is that simple.

Tanya Tucker just Rocks!!!

Joan Jett, Pat Benatar, Lida Ford are some of the greatest female rockers ever, they just kick ass! But, while her genre of music is very different, that Outlaw Female (Technically Country) singer Tanya Tucker, was, is, and will always be an ass kicking singer on any level.

See Tanya kickin a little....

The Electronic Frontier Foundation is there for YOU!!

Folks, everyone that knows me can say the same thing, "Dan is NOT shy". LOL. It's true and I admit that one of my greatest talents next to my chili recipe is my ability to "Show Off". LOL. I have no problem with that.

But I have to turn my attention to a serious topic for a change, and it's a topic or should I say an organization that I feel very strongly about and have the highest respect for. The Electronic Frontier Foundation!!

Fred von Lohmann and crew are real consumer heroes in the fight for your Digital Rights day in and day out. I have had the priviledge of meetin Fred on a few occaisons when I was with 321 Studios and I will do whatever it takes to support them till the end. Jason Whitlock hits another home run

Hat's off once again to Mr. Jason Whitlock of the Kansas City Star (and guest writer for FoxSports.com)

Read Mr. Whitlocks latest offering on the hearings involving Roger Clemens from yesterday. I would have to say he hit the nail right on the head.

Take a look at FoxSports

Baseball,Steroids,Congress,Elections,War in Iraq

I took a few minutes yesterday to watch Roger Clemens on CNN regarding the whole steroid / HGH issue and a question comes to mind.

1. With a war going on in the Middle East and a major election coming this year, should Congressional leaders be policing baseball or should the commissioners office be handling this? Or did I just answer my own question?

Don't misinterpret my words, I am completely in favor of "outing" the users and abusers of the game. Too many kids are trying to emulate their heroes of the game and that's just not good for anyone.

But, should we be spending tax dollars to hold these hearings which seem more like a campaign grandstand for these guys? If criminal activity is occurring, shouldn't the authorities in their area be handling these matters? If federal crimes are committed, bring in the FBI.

Just a thought.

Quote of the Day

"Do you realize how easy it is to be nice?"

Let's talk some politics for a moment.

Just wanted to drop a little politics on you tonight. I am not currently partial to anyone as it is still fairly early and just a bit disgusted with all of them. Hillary and Obama were showing signs of playing nice for a bit, but reality kicked in and they started biting each other again. Hillary is pretty much history unless Obama turns out to be a polygamist with a few extra wives and kids hidden somewhere.

The Republicans have been really disappointing to me so far, they have just been downright childish and someone needs to put a foot in the proverbial butt. Romney dropping out pretty much gives the nomination to McCain, but he better wake up quick if he wants a shot in November.

The Candidates:

John McCain- Hmm. Just not sure. Needs to work on his "speechifying" I suggest looking at some old footage of Ronald Reagan and Bill Clinton, no matter how you feel about either, you cannot deny the charisma and ability to raise the roof.

Hillary Clinton- Just can't see it happening.

Mike Huckabee- He's done, just doesn't realize it and has money to spend.

Obama Barack- This guy just maybe the winning ticket, but still a bit early to predict.

No matter who get's the nominations, November will prove to be one of the most entertaining elections of all time, I just have that feeling.

Identity Theft is preventable

ID Theft is very PREVENTABLE.

Ladies and Gentlemen of Everywhere USA, the time is long past due to WAKE UP!!! Identity Theft has become as much a part of society as baseball and apple pie.
.
I recently took a drive through my neighborhood association that consists of 2300 homes and that equates to at least to a minimum of 1500 plus computers with internet access. So, I packed up my laptop and took a little spin around the neighborhood. Care to guess what I discovered? 474 unsecured wireless networks!!!
.
Do you realize how many “hackers and crackers” out there who do nothing but drive around all day with the goal of logging into someone’s home system? Within a matter of seconds, they can access your bank account numbers, credit card numbers, utility accounts (which can lead to personal info), and the most coveted item, SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBERS.
.
During my drive, the one thing that really stood out was all of the Home Security signs in front yards, stickers on windows, etc.
.
Why would you go to the effort to protect silverware, T.V.s, furniture, etc., but choose to leave your intellectual property and private information completely wide open?

My Favorite quote:

“That happens to other people”
.
If you are running your network unsecured, call the Tech Support number on your router, it will take them maybe 5 min to get you secured and buttoned up. Be smart, just do it.
.
Questions to ask yourself:
Is my wireless network secure?
Do I have a firewall program installed?
Do I have a reputable anti-spyware program running?
The answer should be the same for all 3, YES.

Other Tips to remember:

Never reply to an email asking for personal information until you have at the very minimum contacted the alleged requestor and verified, I still caution about sending info via email.

When making an online purchase, be sure the system offers a secure and encrypted environment. Verisign, Hacker Safe are two examples of what you should look for.

Be wary of any get rich message you receive via email, 9.999999 times out of 10 they will sell your info to a third party marketing company.

Top Email scams:

Your Paypal account needs verification
Your Credit Card has been compromised.
Transfer money from a foreign bank and receive a commission.

ATM Machines.

Avoid using machines if it is not a machine from your bank or at least a machine from a nationally well known Bank.

If you have no choice and need cash:

Look around the machine for any unusual looking device hooked to it.

I always recommend not taking a receipt, some devices pick up the signal and too many times the receipt is left behind in haste.

Try to shield the keypad as you type in your code.

When it comes to the identity thieves of the world, always remember that they usually gather info from the simplest ways possible, just be smart.

Ask Dan at askme@myviewis.com if you have any questions.

Keep Spyware away from your PC

Spyware has surpassed the virus as the most troublesome and annoying PC threat.

The latest SmitFraud type of spyware that bombards your PC with Securtiy warnings and offers to scan your PC is the latest that only has one real cure for removal. The good news is it is a free tool and fairly simple if you follow directions. http://forum.securitycadets.com/index.php?showtopic=283

For everyday protection, I highly reccommend one of these two products, they keep things in check and in most cases, will prevent the SmitFraud from infecting you.

Podmaxx 08 frees you forever from iTunes

Note to Apple: You guys are killing me with this stuff!!!

First, let me state for the record that I am not an "anti-iPodite", I love my iPod, I bought one for my wife and daughter, have bought several as gifts. Here's the but, they have a few quirks and no real solution in-house for protecting your itunes library. It is just a little frustrating at times.

So I ventured into my local Staples, and picked up the sales clerks rec of a product called Podmaxx 08, he told me it would solve all my problems related to backing up and protecting my iTunes library.

Hmm. Was he right? You bet he was, I love this Podmaxx 08 product for way too many reasons to list here. The bottom line, IT WORKED!! Some of the perks of Podmaxx was the transfer capability, DVDS copied straight into my iTunes, say goodbye to paying Apple for movies. Create ringtones, that was fun. But most importantly, I have a very simple solution for protecting my music library. Heck, I can even use Podmaxx to do some other things I am sure Apple isn't crazy about, but so what. It's my iPod I paid almost $300 bux for, it's my music I PAID for once, not gonna pay twice, nobody should. As for the "other stuff" Podmaxx 08 can do, well, better find out for yourself. I did contact the folks there and they are giving all of my vistiors a %40 discount by entering the Priority Code Bling40 at the online checkout.

Did I mention it lets me transfer my favorite YouTube Videos to my iTunes? Nice.

Visit my friends at Podmaxx

Have fun.

Pet Peeve of the Moment

I have decided to create a "My pet peeve of the moment"

You know what can be a tad frustrating? Going to the grocery store and your standing in line, the person in front of you has a big load of groceries, plenty of time to get the checkbook out, or the credit card/debit card out of the purse. No, they choose to wait till every last grocery is checked thru, then they start digging into the purse, pull it out, look at it, then they swipe it or begin to write the check. Let's be a bit more proactive ladies. It really is the considerate thing to do. Ok?

British Men have got it all wrong

Beer and Good times

Interesting Observation here.

Beer = Fortified water, basically a health drink due to the contents of barley, hops, wheat.

Wine = Grape Juice Plus. Alternate Definitions: Mature Grape Juice,Seasoned Grape Juice, Experienced Grape Juice,Grape Extract.

Tequila
= Cactus juice, I mean, all Health food stores sell extract of some type of cactus. What's the big damn deal?

Margarita = More of the healthy cactus extract, and Lime. What's to debate about the health benefits?

Martini = This can be more complicated. Gin and Vodka are popular Martinis. Gin is made from Wheat and Juniper Berries. Vodka is made from potatoes ( That would be Idaho bitches) Vermouth comes from grapes and an herbal blend. What the hell isn't healthy about a Martini? So backoff!!!

Koolaid = Enough sugar to give an elephant diabetes.

This same could be said about me, LOL.

Stop the Madness

Okay, that's enough, this has got to stop!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Kind of off the topic here of the site, but not really. I just read another story of another student shooting. What is the deal with that? Lately, the news has been flooded with students shooting students, Dads shooting their kids and estranged or ex-wives, etc.

What the hell is the deal with this? Shooting your kids? Fellow students? Is there a problem with our drinking water?

I am a lucky man, I have a great wife and great kids. However, if the sky fell in and something happened to damage my marriage, NO FREAKIN WAY on earth am I gonna do something that would take my kids away. NO FREAKIN Way!!!! Those are my kids, they are precious and they are mine!!! You work it out with your ex-spouse and figure out a way to make sure your kids have the most minimal impact to their lives despite the situation.

Students shooting students? Whatever happened to slugging it out and having a soda afterwards and becoming friends? Or using the fact we are Human Beings and cabable of reasoning with each other? Sound crazy? Not to me.

Stop the Shooting!!!! It makes no sense whatsoever!!!!!

123 Copy DVD, Ring Factory Rock the House

Hello everyone,

Christmas 07 is now in the history books, crowds have faded at the retail stores, the credit card bills from Christmas are coming in and there is still a Billion dollars in unused gift cards floating around out there waiting to be spent. Now is the time when the retail chains make their move to draw us back. Print, Radio and T.V. ads are everywhere offering us the “Holy Grail of Discounts and Deals” to get one more big rush of business before the summer slowdown gets here. So, since I have some new gadgets to review, I grabbed my backpack and hit the pavement in search of some cool products and great deals.

Who would be my target stores today? Hmm. Let’s start today with Best Buy, Circuit City, Staples, Frys and CompUSA since they claim to have the perfect products for my new gadgets.

Per the majority of ads I heard and read, I headed straight to the software section to see for myself. I browsed and browsed looking for any “Hot New Items” as well as some of the "Old Guard Products" that have supposedly added some cutting edge new features. All the usual suspects were there, Nero, Microsofts latest offerings, etc.

In the software, I browsed and browsed looking for new items as well as some of the "Old Guard Products" that have supposedly added in some new cutting edge features. I saw the Neros, Microsofts latest offerings, a few newcomers doing the same old thing with different packaging. I finally settled on 3 products to try out, 123 Copy DVD Gold, Ring Factory, and the latest and greatest from Roxio.

I was beginning to feel a bit of disappointment as the few newcomers on shelf were simply the same old thing with different packaging. I finally settled on 3 products to try out, 123 Copy DVD Gold, Ring Factory, and the latest and greatest from Roxio.

Here is what I found out.

Roxio is the same as always and proved to be a huge disappointment once again, just too hard for the average dumb consumer such as myself, lots of bells and whistles on the box, but you need a programming degree to use most of the features. Thumbs down as ususal. It's a $79 product with 1 or 2 usable features, the rest are simply fluff for the packaging and marketing purposes.

123 Copy DVD Gold- We have a winner here, 123 will make backup copies of your DVD movies AS CLAIMED, it has a very sweet little feature to transfer and convert movies to iPods, PSP, Zune, Sandisk, Zen, etc. Or, if you are into the YouTube thing, 123 Gold will transfer your favorite YouTube videos to your iPod or favorite supported handheld. This thing actually worked as advertised and I have to admit, I had alot of fun with this product. I reached out to the developers of 123 they gave me a little "off the record" sneak preview of some new features being added in. Exciting is the best way to describe the future of this application.

Ring Factory- Wow, what a cool little app this is, say goodbye to paying for Ringtones forever, Ring Factory takes your favorite song or songs and lets you slice and dice it any which way you want. My only issue with this app is, I found myself creating ringtone after ringtone and forgot to go to work. Ooops. LOL. Nice job folks!!
